ITI announces webinar for successful implementation of Model Based Enterprise
Milford, OH, November 9, 2016 – International TechneGroup Incorporated (ITI) announces a new webinar, “Reducing Design Change and Labor Costs in the MBE Lifecycle”.
The adoption of 3D Model Based Definition (MBD), PLM, and digital manufacturing technologies requires an unprecedented level of 3D product data precision and accuracy. Therefore, engineering and manufacturing leaders must focus on minimizing the re-creation of 3D product data. When downstream production planning, validation, simulation, or manufacturing teams are reluctant to trust - or are unable to use - supplied 3D data, some may choose to re-create the released model. Unauthorized or unintended design changes cause wasted labor and production issues that can be both unnecessarily costly and avoidable.
Identifying the gaps earlier in the manufacturing process by using real-time methods and proven interoperability solutions for finding, documenting, correcting and communicating changes to 3D production data across the digital enterprise, help to reduce these changes and, thus, drive successful implementations of MBE.
The webinar is derived from ITI’s recent white paper written by James Flerlage, ITI EVP Global Business Development. Flerlage delivers on ITI research of engineering change and how it effects the cost of labor in businesses as they implement MBE. “Production pressures drive shop floor behavior; if 3D MBD models aren’t usable in downstream processes, knowledge workers and suppliers are likely to re-design or re-work the models," states Flerlage. "It’s a situation that often leads to unidentified and/or undocumented changes, increases in labor costs, and in some cases, product quality issues. This webinar coalesces years of ITI project experience and technical expertise into useful insights for addressing what has become a major gap in MBE implementations.”
In the webinar, Flerlage offered five insights for engineering and manufacturing groups implementing MBE.
The 30 minute session was held Wednesday, November 16th, at 1:00 p.m., Eastern.
